Trip to the seal sanctuary Norddeich
We are lucky. Because we do not live that far from the northern sea coast and can do some short vacations very often around here. Last weekend, we visited the seal sanctuary in Norddeich, next to the large swimming and water park Oceanwave in Norddeich.
Our recreation area is also a amount support for the seals that depend on it - many seals would die each year, if it is not that special animal welfare at the North Sea coast. So if you are on vacation in East Friesland, have booked a holidayhome here in the north, or if you are on the way to Norderney - show your family this really nice place. Many seal pups lose their mothers every year, or be left in the lurch. Other seals are sick or are injured and would not make it alone, to get over the winter. These animals are captured, transported to the Seal Station and nursed back before they are ready to be released back into the wild.
On 25 June 1971 the guards saved the first child near Greetsiel. A fishing boat had brought him. "Jan" the seal, survived and was released into the wild with two others in October 1971. These were the first seals that have been returned to the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea. To find out more about the National Park Wadden Sea and the uniqueness of this habitat can provide the seal station in northern offers of the following program:

All Access is also a children's play barn and a large outdoor labyrinth.
